FIND A GRAVE Link

Today, I received the following sad news:

Cathy:

I just found out that a classmate of ours from BHS class of ‘67 had passed away. Steve Walker and I had been friends since 8th grade at Luther Burbank Junior High. I got a call from his neighbor in regards of a letter I had sent Steve and he informed me that Steve passed away in his sleep on February 26, 2015 at the age of 66. His 66th birthday was in January. Steve and I played a lot of golf together during high school up a DeBell. Steve was living in Pacoima, CA at the time of his death.

Regards;

William B. McMillan
Class of ‘67

In the Ceralbus yearbook under Steve's name is says, "Coll. Prep. Marching Band 10; Camera CLub 10, 11, 12; Chemistry Club 12. Looks to the future at a JC."

Here is a 2009 photo from our class reunion.

Please keep Steve's family and friends in your prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear about Steve. He lived on the next street over from Screenland. Our back yards met. I would climb over the fence and myself an others had fun playing games. Good memories of him. My heart goes out to his family and friends. My deepest condolences to Steve's family and friends. R.I.P. Steve.

Like Diane Ward, I knew Steve since kindergarten. It was great seeing him at all of our reunions. We still exchanged Christmas cards. I got one again just this year. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear this. I spoke to him a couple of months ago and he was looking forward to the reunion in August. Wanted to take me and Nancy out to dinner!! He lived right behind my house growing up in Burbank. I use to jump my backyard fence to play and he had a building that had his train collections in it and would show me his trains run. I am sadened by this news.

How sad. One of the nicest guys around--literally would give you the shirt off his back. A kind and decent man.

This is exactly why each and every one of our reunions are so important to attend. Life throw us a lot of curve balls and you just never know! With each reunion, we take away memories of those near and dear to us! We also make everlasting friends that touch our hearts and keep their memory alive!

Great Man! Rest in Peace Steve!

I lived next door to Steve, his mom and dad, Irmadale and Barney, on Pepper St. As a matter of fact Steve was my first "client" as a babysitter. I've often wondered about him, did he marry, have children? What did he do for a living? Nicest family you could ever hope to meet. Sorry to hear of his passing.

  1. I met Steve while at BHS as we had a few classes together. I got to know him better at a number of reunions when we would visit and talk about our life experiences both good and bad. He told me that he liked me because he felt I always made time to talk and listen to him. For some reason I was moved and always remembered that comment. I was sorry to hear of his passing. RIP my friend.

  6. Steve was a nice guy who liked everyone. Steve gradated from CA State Northridge in 1972 and got a job at a small company in Hollywood and stayed there his entire employed life. He never was interested in advancing to a better position. He retired since his company wanted to save money and hire a foreign worker. Steve was single his entire life but had both girl friends and boy friends.
