Mike Galloway Could Not Make the Reunion

Mike Galloway could not make the reunion, so went camping instead.  July 18, 2014 in the San Juan Mountains near Creede, Colorado.

The BHS Class '67 and Friends bash began last night at Bob's Big Boy in Toluca Lake where we'd go after the football games in high school and where yours truly was a carhop not longer after that :)

Then the troops went to Sardos for more fun which included karoke!

Later today we'll be meeting up at DeBell's Canyon Grille around 4 pm so if in town, please join.

John Muir Middle School or Richard M Nixon?

IF THE SCHOOL LOOKS FAMILIAR...

Hi Cathy,

If the school looks familiar in the new CBS show Bad Teacher (starts this Thursday, April 24), it’s because John Muir Middle School is the set for the fictitious RM Nixon Middle School! It took a moment, as I was driving by the school last September, to focus on when and why the Muir mascot was changed. Once I noticed the other changes and the camera crews, it all made sense in Burbank, Media Capital of the World. Naturally—no reflection on our own John Muir Junior High teachers, but it will be fun to see if we recognize any of the locations on campus. I attached some pictures I took of the exterior filming last September.

Eric Robert "Bobby" Anderson, BHS '67 (1948-1998)

Sad news... Liz Anderson Eder, BHS '68, informed me through Facebook, that her brother, Bob Anderson, passed away several years ago.

Birth: 31 Dec 1948

Death: 22 Dec 1998

Age: 49

Last Residence: Carson City, NV

"He died in Reno Nevada Vet Hospital. Complication from aids which he got from a blood transfusion at the VA Hospital. This was before they were testing blood for aids."

Bobby grew up in Burbank and went to Miller which is where I knew him.

Liz wrote, "He was in the Navy aboard the USS Fox out of San Diego. Bob worked at the Post Office in Burbank for a little under 20 years. Then he moved to Nevada and worked for Snap On Tools. He and I stayed close. He loved my kids and took them places."

Besides Liz, Bob was survived by son, Eric, daughters, Heather and Mary Lee as well as his mother who lives in Carson City, NV and sister, Linda Anderson Wilson, BHS '65.

Jeffery F Moore, BHS '67 (1949-2014)

Terrible news... Jeff Moore passed away yesterday. Please keep Robbin, his widow, and the family in your prayers...

Robbin wrote, "Thanks Cathy... Unfortunately bad news still lingers out there. I lost my dear sweet husband last night. He was also a graduate with us in 1967...Jeffery F. Moore. Please pass this on to all our friends at Burbank. This is a tough time."

"Cathy, please send out to all that they're good came and was much appreciated. Jeff will be missed by many, and I am grateful. I prayed that he was at peace and with all his family who have passed on. It was a very difficult time for me, but I had family and friends with me. He died peacefully at home which I was so grateful for. Again Many thanks to all."

Jeffrey F. Moore

March 2, 1949 — March 5, 2014

Jeffrey F. Moore, 65, passed away at his home in Lake Havasu City, March 5. He was born March 2, 1949 in Palmdale, Calif. to Frank and Harriett Moore.

Jeff worked for Federal Express as a station manager in Yuba City, Calif. before retiring in Browns Valley, Calif. and then relocated to Lake Havasu City seven years ago, making Havasu his home permanently.

Jeff married his lovely wife Robbin, in October of 1994. Jeff is survived by his lovely wife, Robbin; daughter, Kristie Moore and his stepson, John Murphy, who will all miss him deeply.

A celebration of Jeff's life will be at a later date in Lake Havasu with his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jeff's name to Hospice of Havasu.

Okay! We are looking at SATURDAY, JULY 19 for our annual Class '67 + Friends Reunion at Canyon Grille (formerly DeBell Clubhouse Grill).

"Hello everyone, I spoke with the folks at DeBell and we are welcome to have our reunion there. We need to give them a date because they book golf tournaments. Once I threw out Jim Grasses's name he was super friendly and said they would work with us on room charge. He then told me how great Jim and his boys are but I told him we already knew what a super guy Jim was!!!! I told him we usually did cash bar and order food on your own. So, let's pick a date!!!! Take care and I hope lots of our classmates show up as we have a great time!!!! Out of Towners, please let us know if July 19th works."
