I was so shocked and sad to hear this news yesterday. Mary was so full of life & laughter! I first met her when she was in my 6th grade class at Miller. She was actually very vocal, even then, and I remember her and Larry Palmer being the funniest kids in the class. I didn't hang out with her in Junior High or High School but for the past decade we became great friends at our various Class of 67 events. She was always the life of the party! I will always remember her coming in and saying "Hi you Ugly Twins!" or "You two are 'my' Ugly Twins!" as she grabbed us & hugged us. Her voice was very deep and raspy and her laugh was like no other. She was often blunt, but we all knew her heart was pure gold!!! I will truly miss seeing you at our future Class of 67 events dear friend. God Bless you Mary! You were loved by many!!!

I rember in 9th grade at John Muir we had a substitute teacher. The teacher asked Mary what her name was. She said Holly. Some time passed and she asked her what her last name is. She in "Mary style" said ...Wood. The whole class went crazy.

I did not really know Mary in high school, being from the class of 65. My relationship began at the class of 67 10 year reunion. There was a pot smoking event that I interrupted and that special bond between Mary and I began. At each subsequent class e… See More
