When "The Fearsome Foursome" (Rick Nebeker, Mike Gould, Bob Maiwurm, and Jerry Clark) showed up on my front porch for my Last Day of School Pool Party ... aka how to make JW notice me ... my 6 foot tall mother about fainted! And then before I could complete my goal, Bob maneuvered them all off to the beach. These guys are all so relatively young. Heavy sigh.

Today, I received the following sad news:

Cathy:

I just found out that a classmate of ours from BHS class of ‘67 had passed away. Steve Walker and I had been friends since 8th grade at Luther Burbank Junior High. I got a call from his neighbor in regards of a letter I had sent Steve and he informed me that Steve passed away in his sleep on February 26, 2015 at the age of 66. His 66th birthday was in January. Steve and I played a lot of golf together during high school up a DeBell. Steve was living in Pacoima, CA at the time of his death.

Regards;

William B. McMillan

In the Ceralbus yearbook under Steve's name is says, "Coll. Prep. Marching Band 10; Camera CLub 10, 11, 12; Chemistry Club 12. Looks to the future at a JC."

Here is a 2009 photo from our class reunion.

Please keep Steve's family and friends in your prayers.

He lived right behind my house growing up in Burbank. I use to jump my backyard fence to play and he had a building that had his train collections in it and would show me his trains run. I am sadened by this news.

Laura Carpenter

John Rocke
How sad. One of the nicest guys around--literally would give you the shirt off his back. A kind and decent man.

Betty Worland
This is exactly why each and every one of our reunions are so important to attend. Life throw us a lot of curve balls and you just never know! With each reunion, we take away memories of those near and dear to us! We also make everlasting friends that touch our hearts and keep their memory alive!

Dona Foy Porcaro Bruckner
This is so sad, I always talked to him at our yearly reunions, truly a super nice guy. RIP

David Hourigan
Very sad to hear this. I grew up with Steve at Franklin Elementary, Luther Burbank and then at Burbank. Spent a lot of time with him at the last reunion we attended. Very nice guy. He will be missed.

Jim Grasse
Great Man! Rest in Peace Steve!

Kathleen Becker
I lived next door to Steve, his mom and dad, Irmadale and Barney, on Pepper St. As a matter of fact Steve was my first "client" as a babysitter. I've often wondered about him, did he marry, have children? What did he do for a living? Nicest family you could ever hope to meet. Sorry to hear of his passing.

New Book: Singing to a Bulldog by Anson Williams, BHS '67 (Anson Heimlick)

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51vOx3d87lL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

Today received an email from fellow classmate, Andrea Moxness, BHS '67...

Hi, Cathy:

I just happened to tune in to The Better Show this morning at 6:00, and there was a great interview with Anson that lasted for two segments. He has written a book, "Singing to a Bulldog" (alas, not the BHS bulldog mascot, but a bulldog on Happy Days), and the interview is fun because he tells stories about the early days and how he got the part of Potsie, etc. Just thought you might want to share it on your blog. You can go to: http://better.tv/view/bettervideos and see some of the interview, if not all.

Andrea

Thanks Andrea.

I found 5 short clips at the above link and then found this other interview here - great job, Anson!
