In retirement he served as a volunteer missionary in Kenya, East Africa; as seasonal pastor at St. Timothy’s Chapel in Montana; and as pastor-in-residence at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania. In Kenya, where he served for five years, he taught at the Presbyterian Seminary in Kikuyu and developed the seminary library.

Rev. Danks is survived by his wife, Coreen; a son, Edward Stephen; a daughter, Debra Lynn Annin (Scott); his brothers, Howard and Richard; a sister, Marilyn Edleston; six grandsons, two great grandsons and one great granddaughter.
