Update on BHS Centennial Committee Mtg

Thanks to Alan for the following report! When I asked can anyone go to these meetings, Alan replied, "Yes, everyone is welcome at the committee meetings. Hopefully if they want to attend the meeting, they will want to help in the Centennial planning!"

Hi Cathy,

The BHS Centennial Committee had it's monthly meeting this past Wednesday, February 27. We meet at the school in Dave Thomson's classroom. There were about twenty committee members there this time, aged from current students at BHS to Herb Vincent from the class of '46. Linda Mustion was there from the '67 class.

Quite a bit of the meeting was spent discussing the Centennial Book, which will be sold during the four days of the Centennial in September. It will be hardback, about 136 pages, 100 on the history of BHS, and the other 36 will be advertisements. It's been discussed since the meeting that alumni who place an ad could have a picture of all the alumni in their family, with each person's name and graduation year from BHS. The ads will cost $150. for "Business Card" size ad; $225. for an eighth of a page ad; $425. for a quarter page ad; $800. for a half page ad; and $1,500. for a full page ad. The estimated cost per book is $30.00. So, if any of the class of '67 are business owners and would like to place an ad let us know and we will get the information to you. Non-business owners are also welcome to place a greeting for the prices listed above.

The Centennial Foundation is also accepting donations. Recognized donations begin at $100. and go on up from there to the highest level with individual recogniton of $10,000. (Also with individual recognition are the $1,000., $2,500., and $5,000. donations.) More can be learned about the Foundation on the Centennial website at www.burbankhigh100.com

All of the class of '67 are urged to register on the Centennial website. It only takes a couple of minutes to register. You may include an email address if you wish, which makes it easier for your friends and classmates to contact you. Also, fill out an "interview" on the website if you can. This tells what and who your favorite classes and teachers were, special memories during your years at BHS, and what world events you remember happening during your high school years. Use the same website address as listed above.

Our next committee meeting will be Wednesday, March 19, at 7:00 PM at the school.
