Today is Armed Forces Day

Larry Maxam (1948-1968)

Richard Crescitelli maintains memorial websites for both Burbank and Burroughs High Schools - here is the link.

At the BHS site, if you scroll down to near the end and put your mouse over the blue band that says, "Larry Leonard Maxam - Viet Nam - Medal of Honor - USMC Citation", you can hear Taps being played - very cool!

Then click on the blue band and this will take you to Wes Clark's website where you can read more about Larry Maxam, a fellow classmate who left school in '64 and enlisted in '65. (

A week from Monday is Memorial day and for those of you who live in or near Burbank, this is from the
BHS Centennial website
